Shipping Guidelines and Special Charges

Shipping in this market can be expensive and confusing.

Let us help you figure out the best method for your project!

LTL Shipments

The Leslie Company’s preferred LTL carrier is currently Fed Ex Freight.  Some addresses are considered special delivery situations and incur additional charges:

Lift Gate: This service is essential when the truck is unable to unload the product at trailer height (also known as dock to dock).

Inside Delivery: This service involves bringing the shipment inside the business premises. For residential deliveries, items will usually be placed in the garage, on the porch, or in the driveway. It’s important to note that drivers generally do not carry shipments inside a home. Additionally, most drivers will not disassemble the shipment to maneuver it through doorways. Inside delivery services typically require lift gate assistance as well.

Limited Access: This refers to locations that necessitate additional time and/or effort for delivery fulfillment. Examples of such locations include schools, hospitals, churches, restaurants/bars, and nursing homes. Occasionally, we might not be aware of the extra limited access charges until we receive the carrier’s invoice, as factors like heavy traffic, restricted entry, or challenging geographic conditions can contribute to these costs.

To ensure you receive an accurate shipping estimate, please indicate if any of the mentioned services are needed. While unexpected charges are not preferable, they will regrettably be passed on.

Any distributor has the option to utilize their preferred LTL carrier. Our customer service team is here to supply all the essential details for scheduling the pickup and providing us with the bill of lading.

Residential Addresses

Did you know that both UPS and FedEx impose an additional fee for delivering to residential addresses? This charge applies to each package rather than per shipment. To avoid unexpected shipping costs, please indicate on your purchase order if the shipping address is residential.

3rd Party or Collect Shipments

Yes, The Leslie Company permits distributors to ship jobs using FedEx or UPS, either as third-party shipments or collect. Please note that this will result in an extra charge. For more information, reach out to customer service. At this time, we do not use USPS or DHL services.

Drop Shipments

Yes, The Leslie Company offers drop shipping (also known as split shipping) for any project. Please note that there is an additional fee for this service, which applies to each location and each job. This charge covers the extra packaging materials as well as the time and labor involved. To ensure a smooth process, drop ship addresses must be provided at the same time as the purchase order.
